Gold Medal Safety Padding Features & Benefits.

Gold Medal Safety Padding is a specially compounded synthetic resinous material, which is poured onto a strand board and once cured, is sectioned into 2.4 x 1.2 metre sheets.

The wall panels incorporate two compositions with the bottom layer providing the softer component allowing compression and the top layer providing the strength and protection against serious damage.

The floor pads are manufactured to the same spec as the wall padding but with a slightly denser composition to allow for added wear for foot-fall.

Seams and fixing holes are filled with a resin compound and once cured are sanded and painted with Gold Medal urethane based paint. This provides a virtually seamless finished surface.

Padding is highly resilient and has a smooth non slip surface, is completely fungus resistant, water resilient and easily cleaned.

PRODUCT BENEFITS

Historically vinyl, taraflex or canvas has been used for Seclusion Rooms, however if one small corner, seam or thread is exposed, an inmate or patient can cause severe damage resulting in expensive repairs and render the room unusable for long periods.

The major advantage of Gold Medal Safety Padding is its strength and resilience to damage. While it is not totally immune to being picked or bitten, it is highly unlikely a complete wall or panel can be destroyed.

Installation is an important factor with areas that may be subject to attack being fitted with the stronger floor pad material. Small areas of damage can be repaired by on site maintenance crews within hours. This provides significant cost saving associated with the actual repair and length of time a room fabricated from an alternative product is out of commission.
If a facility would wish to take care of their own maintenance, in house, Fitness Functions Ltd will fully train the staff to make repairs. Alternatively we will be only to happy to provide a full maintenance service for the site.

Gold Medal Safety Padding comes in 2.4 x 1.2m sheets and can be applied to any type of room design with minimal or no preparatory works. Once the installation is completed the finish is virtually seamless leaving no weak points in the room.

Fitness Functions Ltd can even retro-fit Gold Medal Safety Padding in existing rooms and areas.
All design aspects of a new build site or retro fitting to an existing environment will be handled, if required, by Fitness Functions Ltd – this is including the strip out of the existing room and the making good of the room prior to the installation of our product.

Gold Medal Safety Padding is completely fire resistant and self-extinguishing (0 spread of flame, Smoke Developed Index of 7). Gold Medal is also fungus and moisture resistant ensuring a clean and safe environment for the user.
